I see you moving around me.
Above me, ahead of me.
I reach out to grab you,
My fingers barely grazing your hem,
But you slip out of my grasp.
A wall comes up between us,
Smooth concrete beneath my cold hands.
I can hear your heart beat,
Your steady pulse blown into the wind.
I slump down against the barrier,
Exhuastion giving way to defeat.
I can still feel you.
Each inhale, each exhale.
Even though we are on seperate planes,
You haven't left me completly.
I slowly regain my strengthm
Standing on shaking knees I turn back to what seperates us.
Fists clenched, I begin my attach.
